How It Works
At DocMT we provide simple and easy options for you to choose from to get started. You decide which option suits your needs and we do the rest.
- Option 1: EMR users: If you have an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), we transcribe directly into your EMR.
- Option 2: If you have no EMR, we will transcribe your voice files as text documents in the template format you specify, then send to you via password protected email.
- Option 3: DocMT’s Transcription Management System (TMS): For a small extra cost you can use our Transcription Management System (TMS), an online database that stores, tracks all transcription, and allows authorized users the convenience of reviewing completed transcribed documents, editing those documents if desired, and to even electronically sign them online if necessary. The system allows for automatic secure downloads of transcribed documents without user intervention. Just leave your computer on and our system will do the rest. You can then print the documents at your convenience. Other ways the documents can be transmitted are by password protected email, and/or by fax.
The database will provide a variety of summary reports and we can also customize reports to fit your needs. The following is a sample of just a few reports we offer:
- Productivity: by dictator, dates, facilities/sites, etc.
- Cost: by dictator, dates, facilities/sites, etc.
- Turn Around Time (TAT): by dictator, dates, facilities/sites, etc.

Equipment You’ll Need
You’ll need a digital voice recorder such as those manufactured by Olympus or Philips. You can also use a digital microphone connected to your computer to record digital voice files. We’re happy to help you configure your software to send us the voice files. Unfortunately, we are not able to work with magnetic tapes.
